wave to earth (웨이브투어스) is 3 member K-band under Wavy. The members are Daniel Kim, Soonjong Cha, & Dong Q. Originally, they debuted as a duo (Daniel Kim and Dong Q) with the single “wave” on August 2019. In January of 2020 they returned with new member Soonjung Cha with their first EP “Wave 0.01”. The name Wave to Earth reveals the band’s desire to “become the new wave” and expand its own universe across the world.

Daniel Kim (김다니엘), born March 18 1997. Guitar, vocal & songwriter.

He was born in France but moved to South Korea at a young age. He’s currently attending Howon University’s Department of Applied Music, majoring in singer-songwriting.

He writes and composes all of their songs. He says that he first decides on the title while writing, then sets the speaker to write a story like a novel. He usually writes the lyrics and melody almost at the same time.
Has a brown toy poodle that’s 4 years old, named Poong.

Soonjong Cha (차순종), born August 13, 1997. Bassist.

He used to live in Kenya for 7 years as a child.

He’s the best at English in the band because he went to an American missionary school..
He has graduated from the Seoul Institute of the Arts with a major in Applied Music and Bass.

Dong Q (신동규), born January 23, 1998. Drums.

He really likes fashion and gets inspiration from Pinterest, he would like to be a model. He likes to shop online.

Like Daniel, he’s also attending Howon University.
He’s a former member of the jazz group, AIFF.

First of all, their album “0.1 flaws and all.” is giving out such a relaxing vibe to me.
It’s a well-written and produced album, 10/10 for sure.
sunny days - For me, this song is about the love that makes everything better, brighter and the bond between two people creates the perfect sunny day. I love the drum and guitar parts of the song. The music video also has such a chill vibe. This song is full of positive emotions.
evening glow - This song is about feeling broken, but despite of the strugglings, you can find support, understanding and love. The “lay me down on the sun” part is aboutN finding a warm, cozy and peaceful place which makes everything more bearable. I love this song.
bird - The title kinda speaks itself, because the singer asks the bird about how it feels to fly. But there are difficulties that come with flying and the bird needs to face challenges. In my perspective, we all are birds who face those things. This song is so meditative, I love this one the best among the songs I listened from them.

peach eyes - this is a very calm and melodic song. It took me about a minute into the song to realize that it was kind of a love song. I find their vocals hard to distinguish the lyrics tbh but once I read the lyrics I had more of an appreciation of the song. The second time around listening to it, I definitely changed my mind. This usually isn’t the sound I vibe with but I added it to my playlist.
dried flower - this one give the opposite vibe as the last one. It’s very sad and somber. It feels like they lost a love, rather than gaining one. The lyrics are deep and the instrumentals are soft. I appreciate the vibe they are going for but honestly I was a little bored.
sunburn - this one the tempo mildly picked up but I’m running into the same issue where I can’t make out many of the lyrics until I read them and I found myself bored before the song reached halfway. One positive that I will give: this does make the album seem very cohesive.

Bad (6/10) – This is a good song to chill to, but I wouldn’t really call it a favorite. I gave it a six because I like songs with more energy.
Sunny Days (7/10) – I like the falsetto in the song and the softness of their voices, but again, it’s not really my cup of tea.
Peach Eyes (8/10) – This is still not energetic enough for my taste, but it’s more melodic than the other two, if that makes sense? It reminds me of Mono-era RM.
