with how often his films have been referenced in kpop mvs ever since suzy's yes no maybe (not the mention the sheer amount in loona content) I'm curious what your fav unexpected references are

mine is the random burger scene in girls' capitalism where you have that background step printing effect to really drive in the random chungking express allusion that they just move on from (it's giving cop 663 in that one restaurant scene)

he’s one of the biggest directors to come out of east asia and is a favourite for film students to emulate with his dreamy, transient atmospheres — for as big as chungking express and in the mood for love were though, I think it’s his signature step printing effect (see below) and color grading courtesy of cinematographer christopher doyle


suzy’s yes no maybe is straightup an ode to his works, mamamoo’s wind flower, loona’s egoist, txt’s good boy gone bad all have a time of references too off the top of my head
