I can't delete threads or posts, it only lets me edit them, is there any way to do so?

You can tag a mod but you can also probably just change the title and post content to something else.

As a former mod (elsewhere), let's just say that it probably wouldn't be the best idea to give everyone the ability to delete threads...

Because the threads are never truly deleted. They're just moved into a pile of threads hidden by other users.
