Sensitive A rant about Cravity's schedule and promotion (1 Viewer)

Okay,

I'm gonna attempt to summarise this quite plainly: Cravity is HEAVILY being overworked. This isn't normal 'Oh the company needs to put them on a break they're probably tired' shit this is 'holy fuck some of the members are injured and sick and their health is failing' type of shit.

Sunseeker has been a really weird (and, if I dare say it as a fan, not a good) era. The group immediately started preparing for the comeback DURING the world tour in LA, they filmed their MV for Cheese. Due to time constraints Cravity learnt and practiced the choreography in front of a mirror in their hotel the night before. Straight after their world tour, they were scheduled to release Sunseeker with Cheese and Ready or Not as their title tracks. It's bad enough that they had to prepare TWO songs after a multi-month world tour.

So after a world tour and four weeks of promoting two weeks you'd think Starship would let them rest huh? Oh you're funny! Instead, the label thought it would be an amazing idea to RELEASE ANOTHER MUSIC VIDEO AND PROMOTE FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS


This is where shit hits the fan.

Minhee injured his hip during Ready or Not promotions and had to sit out of some promotions. Normal stuff right? It would be if his hip was recovered during the recent Megaphone performances but it's not (tweet is referencing their recent music core stage):


Jungmo has been taking medicine, Wonjin hyperventilated. This shit isn't normal. That's over A THIRD of the active members (Seongmin's on hiatus right now) who are NOT WELL. That's more than enough to cut these promotions.

I am worried. I am. Starship needs to let them go on hiatus. I don't care if I don't see them for another few months, they need rest. This is most likely not going to happen due to an upcoming Japanese comeback but I need the company to realise the health of their idols come FIRST.

Of course under this company Cravity isn't the only one who has to deal with mistreatment. And my ranting isn't really going to fix anything. But I needed to get it out.

I hope the members who are not well recover quickly. I hope the members overall are not in distress (though I don't blame them if they are), I hope they get through this with optimism. I hope Starship gives a shit soon. Cause if they don't then worse shit will happen, and I don't want anything worse happening.

when i saw minhee during the recent performance i wanted to cry. i do NOT understand how starship isnt looking at what they're doing and maybe like HALTING EVERYTHING. they do NOT have to see this out through "the end", i dont think any of us will be disappointed especially when we're all begging for SS to stop/calm down. who is this promotion for?! we just want them to rest !! there's no room for air, they're not machines

Yeah it doesn't seem like a lot knowing three of their four releases are on their sunseeker album but its literally too much, they need to rest.

SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE BACK! I've seen no Luvity happy that they're still promoting, they need to be given a break, we're on our knees right now.

I haven't read this whole thing bc I don't like feeling depressed, but this is an outrage! And to think the three mvs in four weeks was just a generous feeding! I don't want to say this is like 1D or WDW bc they were kinda different ig, but ig it's kinda a combo: the tight schedule and the mistreatment. CRAVITY DESERVES WAY BETTER THAN THIS!!!

This isn't even bad for SSE, like at all. Not that it makes it okay, but it could be much worse. Not only that but it's not just SSE, it's literally the whole industry, everyone's been trying for years to get change to happen. There hasn't even been real progress when lives have been lost, which is sick and incredibly disappointing.

The companies don't care, idol careers have a lifespan (usually 7 years or less) and they try to squeeze as much out of them before disbandment as possible. Sometimes idols work 24+ hour schedules. Sometimes they work weeks on end where they have no free days. This is why you see so many idols needing surgeries, constantly in and out of hospitals, suffering mental health issues, etc. The best thing you can do is basically just forget you're seeing what you're seeing, because it won't change, and it will wear on you as a person with any form of empathy, to an unhealthy degree.

Forgive my cynicism, but I had to watch SSE have the remaining six members of Monsta X re-record and re-choreograph their Follow/Find You CB literally hours after Wonho left the group & the company, then have them back up for Music Bank recording the next day. They looked like they hadn't even really stopped crying. Those recordings still exist. Once you've seen that level of depraved indifference, you know there's no fixing what's going on here.

Do I hope for Cravity and all the younger (and older) gen idols that something finally shifts and there's real reforms and efforts to actually have healthy, happy performers long term? Heck yes, it's been well deserved for the whole industry, especially since they start these kids so young. I just don't think the execs are willing to risk profits by being decent human beings.
