Because it's popular to hate them on the Internet? I do, I feel like they know they'll get made fun of for the possibility of them liking it, EVEN IF THEY NEVER TRIED IT, and yes I'm talking about mint chocolate 🤣 I've came to the conclusion that most people on the web have actually never ever had those certain hated things because they know for sure they'd get hate for actually liking if they do, which I don't blame them because I hate being made fun of too but still it's weird seeing people get FOMO for hating something

Lots of people love it though, otherwise there wouldnt be so many mint chocolate candies or ice Cream or so on. And yeah it is gross but if someone says it’s gross I wouldn’t assume that they haven’t tried it, I’d assume they don’t like the taste. Very possible to do because it’s a very strong flavor. I Just think if you’re picking an over hated bandwagon thing where people dont make their own opinions and just believe others then mint chocolate to me is extremely far down on the list of things that suffer from bandwagon hate, and that there’s many other things that make a much much better example.

that was me at first with K-pop. When I was a Directioner (well, I lowkey still am, I just support them solo now), the majority of us would hate on K-[op and its artists, especially BTS, Got7, and T-Ara... and even I'm shocked to say that I joined that bandwagon. lol K-pop was really being painted in a bad light, as if the fans were notorious for, say, hacking into voting systems so that their idols would win instead of 1D - that would explain my period of denial before I finally jumped down the rabbit hole. I initially bandwagoned because K-pop was popular to hate on by my fandom.

there's bad apples in every bunch and with kpop being as big and competitive as it is there's bound to be hatred...

but as my fav kpop lyric goes - the brighter my light gets, the darker my shadow grows

Seems like you’d have to try to avoid it, and a really little kid would be less likely to do that. Anyways, one example that for me makes more sense would be a person getting into a music fandom, then deciding that the biggest opposing fandom is terrible without knowing anything about it. That one I’ve definitely seen.
