Would you like to be reffered to as your middle name? (1 Viewer)

There’s this trend where people are introducing themselves as their middle name it has made me realize that I do not want to go by my middle name. My middle name is simple but I like the uniqueness of my first name. I’ve decided that if people can’t take the time to learn how to read, spell or say my name, they ain’t worth my time. Or if they mispronounce mine I will mispronounce theirs even if its the most simple name ​

Yes. I'm quite the opposite, I don't like my first name because it's unique so I always go by my middle name because it's easier to pronounce and prettier. I plan on trying to legally change my name in the future.

Same So thats why I have the stance I do. It’s a pretty name so people just need to make the effort

I plan on getting rid of mine eventually The process is just annoying >.>
When I was getting my license renewed, I accidentally put the full middle name instead of the initial, and now it's there for the next 4 years. I hate it.

Russians have a not quite middle name that’s basically their dads name with an ending that differs a bit depending on gender and the last letters of their dads name. It’s not a middle name though, just very similar. According the the US I have no middle name. I also mentioned this name to you before but don’t remember if I said it was my “middle name” or if I just mentioned the name

Old school Gujju names have their name + suffix and that's their first name. Idk if all Indian cultures do this actually so ill say Gujjus.
They stopped doing this in the 80s-90s for more modern folks and those that dont fit either gender thank god.
BUT If youre female you have 'ben' and males add 'kumar.' So Minaben or Joshuakumar.

It's like a title but not really. And i don't think anyone told them that it wasn't necessary to add that onto all their legal documents.
Because now their daughters have to deal with insufferable old school long outdated traditional middle names where they accidentally write it in full on their license renewal and get haunted every time a server at a bar thinks you look underage

Yep. Girls add an ovna or evna to their dad’s root and boys add ovich or evich. So if their dads name was Roman, their daughters “middle name” would be Romanovna and the sons would be Romanovich. I’ll tag you in the thing with my name

I guess by middle name you mean something like a second family name?
My name has 3 “parts”, first one is my family name/surname and the next two are first names (which in my country’s case is/are not the first part in a name, so yeah).
Like, I am not Julia Fiona Roberts, but Roberts Julia Fiona (except these names are non-existent in my country).
But, you can have 2 or 3 family names too by marriage (getting your husband’s family name(s)).
Basically, you can have as much names as you want (in any form) and as your ID card can get.
That wasn’t even the question… nvm, I love my name.

Yes! My middle name is Clare (not a typo) after the saint of Assisi, so it has a personal (for my mom) meaning attached to it (she was brought up Catholic). It's so, so pretty with a nice namesake - and then you have my first name, plain-Jane Stephanie.
