I was reminded of this because it’s winter again, but one year we had a bad storm and the power went out. It was cold af outside, and at night my parents made us put on multiple sweaters and loaded us up with blankets and so on. Nowadays I’d sleep with sweater while we have power if I decided I’m cold enough, but as kids we were deeply offended at the idea of wearing sweaters to bed for some reason despite the cold Why is wearing sweaters to bed offensive? Beats me

We had this tree we used to climb up that was in the yard beside us. The house was torn down. My brother convinced me to jump down from high up in the tree and I was stupid enough to do it

we went to a family christmas thing and one of the presents i got from my relatives was a shopkins thing (i was like 7) and i really wanted to open it because it was a fridge and it had a picture of an ice cube shopkin, so i did everything in my power to get it open and i think i did, but it had zipties on it and i couldn't get it out. we eventually got home and guess what? no ice cube shopkin, it was all a lie

I remember reading so many history books and thinking about how horrible most people in major history events were, so I made it a goal to be the nicest human being possible, so that I could go in a history book for being nice and that would be how people would remember me after I died. As well as that, at least there would be one genuinely good person in history books.

Needless to say, child me was just a tiny bit naive.

I was once on a tour to a courthouse in my city and we have a "mock" trail that was scripted so all we had to do was read of the paper

I remember I was the prosecution and the last words I was SUPPOSE to read was

"and the prosectution rests"

instead of that I said

" and the prostitution rests"

I was on the beach here and I tripped over a flathead and my face went into the sand a few cm deep lol

You know how the sudden dips of a river/lake is called a dropoff? One time I was swimming with my cousins and our parents, and I went into a really deep dropoff and when I got my footing again I got everyone’s attention and screamed “it’s a ripoff!”

I still get trolled for it to this day

I was banned from going to nature trips in elementary school after my teacher had to call the poison control center on 4 different trips about me licking the leaves of plants that my teacher had just said are poisonous

The reason why I hate sledding

When I was a kid, my parents would up drive up to Pennsylvania to visit my cousin's family (father's side) for winter break. One of those snowy winter days, my aunt and uncle let us go sledding right by their house. My parents said it was okay for me to go.

So we went sledding. I remember the numbers of times I fell of my sled (it was one of those circle sleds that spun around). Yeah... After we finished sledding, my cousin asked me if I liked it sledding... I said no and I'm not doing that again

I was like 7 or 8 at that time.

The reason why I hate sledding

One time I was sledding down while my brother was walking up with another large plastic sled (with a rope). The wind caught my brothers sled right as I was sledding past and the big one flew into my face. I had a black eye for a while
