For me it has to b the 4th gen leader thing it's so unnecessary and insignificant like DreamNote aren't the 4th gen leaders (depending on whatever crazy criteria yall pull from ur asses next) but they make bomb ass music so it changes nothing

My pet peeve is the generation leader argument in general bc it's so annoying and it's all ktube and kpoptiktok ever talk ab. kpop reddit not so much but that's bc they're busy saying other dumb things because it's reddit

his pet peeve, i believe, is when certain fans claim their fave is the leader, based on wildly subjective criteria... so much so that nothing really matters. one person may say it's a popular group like ive, another may say it's some nugu-ass group like dreamnote. it doesn't really matter - because good music is good music, and some group being the leader of some generation won't change that, as you said. but what is annoying is the incessant fighting that goes on and on and on. people are so determined to claim their fave is the leader of some gen - and for what? a title that doesn't make sense anyway? what even is the point? at least, that's what i think they mean.

i kinda relate cause i don't really like the whole 5th gen agenda mnet has pushed for zerobaseone (who are one of my favourite groups), and all the back-and-forth discourse along the lines of "zb1, riize, and boynextdoor have ushered in the new generation of kpop, they're truly different!" vs "no we're still in the same generation goddamnit not enough time has passed for a new one!!" used to annoy me - cause what even is the point? but now i've stopped caring. i don't agree with mnet's mediaplay - and i think people should recognise it as such. however, if people genuinely think we're in a new generation for x, y, and z reasons... so be it. i've personally stopped buying into the whole kpop generation discourse cause i don't think it really matters, it's some peoples' subjective criteria anyway. i don't think zb1 or riize or bnd even care... they're just here to earn some money and go home happy. if they make music i like (which zb1 do), then i like them. that's it really.

I completely agree that none of it makes sense and thus why partake? in the entire history of kpop fanwars I highly doubt many have gone

it's okay to not have an opinion. you don't have to be negative just to feel valid. just because someone else says something bad doesn't make it weird to say something good, it's so annoying how people jump to conclusions just to be negative and then realize they actually dont hate everything??

100% and if one comes across such content whether a video or twitter or whatever - just ignore them since if one is constantly surrounded by such negativity it's probably also bad for one's mental health as well

I barely have enough time to consume my fav's content let alone "hate" another group...

hell some antis know more about my favs than I do!!! they know exactly how many albums were sold and where they charted and every little mistake in performances etc etc - at that point I'm thinking you're more of a stan than I am lol

when fans pressure each other to stream and vote for their faves. They need to realize that (a) K-pop isn't the only genre out there, (b) different people may have differing tastes, and (c) the majority of people actually have lives outside of K-pop.
