It blows my mind how some people manage to say some of the worst and unnecessary shit directly to idols whether it’s to their face or through the screen, and yet they haven’t been blacklisted from entering fancalls.

they came up with fancalls because of the lockdowns, so why is it still a thing if lockdowns arent

I mentioned this on a recent thread about this topic

they are idols and fancalls are part of their job...we all have aspects of our job we don't like but we have do them anyway because it's our job

should the caller have said what they said - probably not since it's not "socially appropriate" to say something like that but was it so offensive as to be banworthy? probably not...

That’s true but that doesn’t change the fact that ppl are allowed to express how they feel about these things especially when it’s gone too far even if dealing with fans like that is part of the job.

that's the key difference right? what makes it "too far" - and I think this is where I differ mostly from other fans
I think my definition of "too far" is a higher standard/limit than other people - some things like threats of violence would be but if it's "I'm no longer your fan or you're not longer my fav" (again not appropriate but not too far in my opinion)

So I guess that’s like if you were to be completely honest with some professional at a workplace that you’ve dealt with - like say if that employee you had has said some things to you that you don’t agree with or don’t like, then if you the customer or client were to say something to them like “I no longer want to have you as my consultant (or whatever role)”, that might fit with the point that you’re trying to make if I’m right.

At the end of the day, I respect your opinion, even though I don’t fundamentally agree with it in the idol scene.

that's cool that's the very basis of a discussion right - not to prove if either I'm right or you're wrong but to understand each other's perspectives and hopefully giving both a greater insight into things...

in regards to your example yes and no since for those encounters one would be able to follow up on said discussion whereas in the fancall example it's (usually) a one time thing and the idol is unlikely to see that person again (forever). I can ask my employee and ask the client why / the circumstances surrounding the encounter and hopefully manage both sides without being completely dismissive of either party...

so in your opinion what is the criteria for an idol being able to end a fancall?
(take into consideration that the person is an idol and SK and professionalism and Confucianism and all those intrinsic cultural aspects of things)

i never understand what goes through the mind of someone to say something like this to another person. when you meet someone like an idol, shouldnt you be excited? why the hell are you gonna be flat out rude and make them uncomfortable, idols are humans with feelings, theyre not robots who just take in information with no feeling.

Agree, there’s much better things that fans should be saying to their favs instead of having to say unnecessary shit to them like that
