Oops missed this lol.
Actually I haven't, but I probably would have had I come across the books earlier.
So I actually watched the first season of GOT first and got super hooked. And so I decided to read the books, and read A Game of Thrones and A Clash of Kings super fast. Then S2 came out and after that I read A Storm of Swords.
At this point I was super hooked. Read all the fan theories, visited Westeros.org, read all the forums. And then it hit me. A Storm of Swords had released in 2000. And until 2011 there had been only 2 more books, and they were both SET AT THE SAME TIME

And I started thinking, maybe I'll wait until Book 6 is out before I read books 4 and 5, only it's 2019 and book 6 is still nowhere in site so I've just come to terms that GRRM has either no idea on how to tie all threads together to deliver a satisfying conclusion or we're most likely never getting anything so I've just made the show plot canon to me.
And this has kinda put me off reading anything else he's written coz I first want closure on the main storyline which I won't get so Dunk N Egg has been sidelined for me probably forever.

Harry Potter. I'm not a huge fan of the books or the writing, but JK Rowling's worldbuilding is amazing and it seems so magical.
