Its decemeber 31 here still but later im gonna go over to my uncles house!! Did you do anything?

Nah, I hv other stuff to do. New year's day/eve isn't much of a thing here until recently when commercialisation reared its beady eyes in last 20 yes or so. I missed any fireworks in my neighborhood by being asleep from 11:30pm till 3am.LOL

Nah, I hv other stuff to do. New year's day/eve isn't much of a thing here until recently when commercialisation reared its beady eyes in last 20 yes or so. I missed any fireworks in my neighborhood by being asleep from 11:30pm till 3am.LOL

We don’t watch the time square drop either way, but that also hasn’t happened yet We’re making yummy kung pao chicken later. We just wished new years to my moms parents just now, we’ll wish new years to my dads parents in a couple hours, and then I’ll probably be up until midnight our time too. Won’t be very celebratory other than having some sparkling apple cider but it’s something.

I forgot NYC is 12 hrs time difference(how does LA/Alaska/Hawaii handle it when the ball drops but it's still hrs away for them? lol, Rhetorical question no need for answer)

Imagine how the difference is for even bigger countries, like Russia (the farthest east has a 9 hour time difference with Moscow) So much like them I suppose

My poor dog is under the bed cuz he is really scared.

I think yr neighborhood is different from mine then or the fireworks r louder/closer. The dogs across the street in the pet store just opened recently might be used to fireworks. There New years n national day, n 3 major festivals throughout the year, plus maybe state/national royalty birthdays so up to 7 times a yr, 2 or 3 nights Chinese new year might hv fireworks. So either I'm oblivious/dogs r used to it/not nearby to me to hear their barking.

So sorry tat for yr doggo, a otherwise happy time for humans has em scared/uncomfortable.

But Russia (n maybe china) could just tell its people, hey follow same time zone n celebrate 00:00 Russian time(new year 2024) at same time even if the sun is 9 hrs behind in the western part of the country.i know tat doesn't happen(I think) but imagine if I did?
