I am on the STRUGGLE bus.
I've been in a reading slump for basically 3-4 months now and I'm over it.
I'm tempted to re-read a favorite series of mine
but I also want to read a NEW book.

So comment below a letter between A-D
and then a number between 1-26
I'll grab the book you chose and read the first chapter
and kind of go from there and see if it's a book I'm interested in
and I'll also let you know the book too and a synopsis possibly?
(ie. A20 OR D2)

Not bad-good contender for my next read. The book is called "A Magic Steeped in Poison".

Its about a young woman where in their culture there are people who are gifted with reading fortunes & futures from the steam that rises off of a freshly brewed cup of tea. But our main character ignored an omen that floated above some tea she served to her mother and sister and her mother ends up poisoned and her little sister is now fighting for her life as well. Our main character gave up hopes of mastering this skill after this incident but when a royal decree comes with the offer of entering a competition to become the palace knew Shinnong-Shi, with her little sister too ill to go and the possible fortune that would come with the position too tempting she goes in her sister's place-oh also tea has magical properties in this world too.

Red Rising by Pierce Brown.

Not bad, about a mining colony on Mars that has created a hierarchy that is beyond corrupt and our main character is at the bottom of it and his father tried changing and disrupting that hierarchy and was hung for it. So he wants to essentially take it down.

You read books where the main characters are MEN?

98% of the books in my room are from female character POV excluding the classics and the gay novels :susPepe: and the furry series LMFAO @Wingfrost
Even so you do read stories where males are the main. It’s one thing to tend to read more of one but to completely ignore any book from the other genders perspective is weird imo :coronawimwim: And then to be surprised if anyone ever reads one from that other perspective just seems odd to me

Why’s that weird? :umwhat:

One of the sentences I read in that first chapter was the guy feeling something in his balls.

It might also be the genre just because I have quite a few YA novels and many of them feature female MCs

It's not intentional for me. I just happen to read more books from the female perspective.

Though most of the books form male perspectives I've read that I can remember are creepy.

Maybe but that leaves 35% of YA novels that you could never touch if one was against reading any book with a male protagonist. That’s a sizable chunk, over 1/3 of all YA books

Nobody is intentionally avoiding it though as far as I know.
