I'll drop one of mine-I hate the whole no positions thing within Kpop. Feels like it's an excuse to not give credit where credit is due for certain members of the group who have honed in on their specific craft and it is more of a thing to appease fans who constantly complain about line distributions being unfair because now they can't go like "Well Miyeon is the main vocalist she should be getting more than 10 seconds in a song" now they'll just complain about any member not getting lines without it having any relation to their position.

caring about line distributions is pointless

I was being sarcastic, but I was pointing out that for some reason people think line distribution has to be exactly equal or it’s the end of the world but when it comes to dance they expect the main dancer to get center and dance break while the main vocal often gets no memorable dance moments by comparison. So even though both most lines and center/dance breaks highlight a member more, lines for some reason aren’t supposed to be based on tone and skill but dance is expected to be based on skill. It’s stupid

This whole line distribution topic also really annoys me, especially as so many fights break out over it all the time

Fans kinda always want their favorite idol to either have most lines or have everyone the exact same amount of lines or they get angry.. which ofc rarely works out if your fave is not the main or lead vocal
Often I feel like many Kpop fans would do better just stanning solo artists, would save them a lot of trouble

I have no strong feelings on positions, as they not always make sense to me, its kinda fun though to have them (apart from it being another reason for constant fights)

Vikkis points is really interesting though, I acutally also do not remember to see many fights about dance time distribubtion. I think this has a lot to do as idols are mainly seen as singers, thats also why many idols are called talentless and undeserving, as many fans refuse to understand that kpop is not only about singing and you need other talents too..

The closest to fighting about dance position I saw was actually someone saying it’s bad they put an idol in the center because they were too weak of a dancer. So not even the same, more like the opposite. And I suppose I have seen people being sad their fav is never center. But as for fighting about why their fav got 1 second less in the center I haven’t seen that before. Maybe it exists and I haven't seen it, who knows. But it wouldn’t be as prevalent as line distribution ones.
