So as I may ot may not have mentioned, this coming summer I have an internship. I have been planning for the past two (almost three) years where I want to go. I really really dreamed to get an internship at one of the leading children’s hospitals in the country and just got told that I’m not allowed to. Because it doesn’t align with the expectations of the internship on my school’s side. It’s just frustrating thag I already put so much time and energy into this just to be told no, you’re not gonna do it.​

I'm so sorry to hear that. Could you get an internship at another hospital, then transfer to that one later on? I am not sure if that would work or not, but you can give it a shot if you want to.

I could do it but that delays my graduation which is not an option

or look for the course outline/guide or whatever and try to find the specific criteria in which they base whether an intership is suited or not suited?

for example if someone is studying accounting and takes an internship at a bank - that could be still relevant to the course itself but if they take an internship at a fashion house that would be stretching it

I mean there's always a method if you really want to right?
like I know that down under one can appeal any decision to the board of the university or the chancellor even...

but I guess it's back to the drawing board - you now not only have -1 internship lined up you also have to find another one right?

That is a decision from the head. No appeals. Previous students have tried. I only need to do one internship, sorry if I didn’t make that clear. Just the plan is shot. So I need to find a new idea.

No unfortunately because they don’t have the specific services offered that my program could grant me access to

Yeah I have till May technically. Most places don’t even have their postings up yet as funding doesn’t come in till March.

As I mentioned above, no. This specific hospital specializes in children and has a mental health ward whereas others don’t
