it's from a very very well known chinese novel called journey to the west
I guess for people unfamiliar with Chinese history and novels the character Goku from Dragon Ball Z is based of Sunwukong

Amaterasu is the Goddess of the Sun and the ruler of heaven and creation. The Japanese Imperial family is believed to have descended from her.

Medea was the daughter of King Aeëtes and helped his lover Jason to obtain a golden fleece from his father. She fled with her lover and he left Medea for another women, so she basically kills everything he loved


There is a great book about Patroclus called 'The Song of Achilles' by Madeleine Miller
The story of Achilles and Patroclus is really beautiful (and tragic)

And Penthesilea was a really skilled fighter and a key figure in the Trojan war

raziel and gabriel. i'm a big fan of judeo-christian mythology, especially angels.
if we count biblical figures too (since it's considered mythology), i would add yael and abimelech. i'm atheist, but book of judges honestly has some of my favorite stories.
on the deity side, i really like hermes, mercury and hypnos. i also like izanagi-no-mikoto and izanami-no-mikoto because of how insane their story is (trigger warning for pretty much everything you can think of if you decide to look that up).
