My dad has the voice of a politician lmao...only sometimes do I have to check his expression to see if he's serious or not though. I can usually tell by his tone.
My mom's sort of the opposite. She does have a way of saying names to where it can scare you but sometimes it's not even for something mad.

My dad's kind of the same and people's first impression of him is usually that he's intimidating. In a bad mood, he can be but in a good mood, he's so funny and delightful to be around. He also is very down-to-earth.

Not avoid him necessarily but I've been told by friends that it adds a layer of intimidation to him lol
