Introduction

Welcome to the KPS Connoisseur Championship, here you will compete with other users to find who is the greatest connoisseur in our forum.


How to play

You will compete in these 3 categories :

5 screenshots of MVs, 3 puzzled pics of idols and 1 heavily modified lyric will be sent each round. Each guess for screenshots will be worth 4 points (2 points for artist and 2 points for title of the track). Each guess of idols will be worth 5 points. Each guess of lyric will be worth 5 points too (need to guess both artist and title of the song).
Each round will last 24 hours, after that no more points can be given for the previous round and a new set of guesses are given.

Bad spelling is prohibited, and we ask participants to write the full name of both the artist and title. For example:
LSRF - frls
Le Sserafim - Fearless

Of course some unfortunate spelling mistake (like an s missing in le sserafim) won't be penalized but try to be as precise as possible.
Some groups you don't need to spell full name:
TXT, SNSD


Tournament Structure


Signups
Players will signup to the game and then randomly placed in 4 different groups. After the groups are formed the participants can decide when to start the game. They need to find a date that will be okay for everyone in the group including the organizer of the event (me). This date should be before 72 hours before the start of the next stage (03/15 00:00 KST). If no agreement can be found the starting date for the group stage will be 03/08 01:00 KST.


Group Stage
Competitors will first be separated in 4 groups, and will compete against each other in those groups. They will play 3 rounds, with each round lasting 24 hours. 40 points can be earned each round for a total of 120 points. If everyone in the group agrees, you can ask the organizer a hint about any guess, with a maximum of 3 hints per round.

The winner of each group will qualify for the next stage.
They will face the 4 users who have gained the most point (excluding group winners) across all groups. Then users will enter a single elimination bracket with the group stage deciding the seeding. If a tie happens, the tiebreakers rules will be applied.


Knockout Stages (Quarter/Semi/Finals)
Competitors now face each other 1v1. They will also compete in 3 rounds with the same rules, and they can both ask for a hint for a maximum of 3 hints per round. The winner advances to the next Stage.
The finals and 3rd place match will be 5 rounds.
Tiebreaker rules are the same.

1. Group Placement (excludin group winner bye)
For example: Vikki finished first in the group with 45 points and I finished 2nd with 30.
On the 2nd group tiffany finished 2nd with 35 points and daisy finished 3rd with 30 too. I will qualify above daisy because I finished 2nd in my group.

2. average points earned (your points/group points)
For example: I finished 2nd with 30 points earned and the group total was 120 points.
On the other hand in another group, daisy, who also finished 2nd with 30 points but the group scored 100 points.
Therefore I will qualify because my group scored more points (more competitive group)

3. average hint points earned (points earned with hints/points earned) (lower is better)
For example: Daisy finished 2nd with 30 points and their group scored 110 points. Among those 30 points 15 were scored with help of hints.
On the other hand Nina finished with 30 points and 110 group score. But among those 30 points, only 9 were scored with hints. Therefore they will qualify as they received less help to score those points.

Signeups : 03/04 - 03/08 (07:00 KST)
Groups: 03/08 (08:00 KST) - 03/15 (00:00 KST)
Quarter Finals: 03/15 (01:00 KST) - 03/19 (00:00 KST)
Semi Finals: 03/19 (01:00 KST) - 03/23 (00:00 KST)
Finals and 3rd place match : 03/23 (01:00 KST) - 03/30 (00:00 KST)


Prizes

1st: Badge or 300 ks coins (badge will be announced after Group Stage)
2nd: 250 ks coins
3rd : 200 ks coins
4th: 150 ks coins


Rules

All forum rules are applied.
Cheating is heavily prohibited:
You can't ask for help from other participants outside your groups.
You may only guess in your private conversations.
You can't ask for help from non participants (staff included).
Automatic disqualification if cheating has been found.
