i guess it just goes to show how bad humans are at multitasking. when you're watching an mv you're concentrating on the plot of the mv or the dance or the aesthetic and when you're listening to music, most of the time you're just listening to the music and imagining your own thing that goes with the music so it makes it better.

music also sounds better at 4AM with the lights off and everyone sleeping

oh another thing is youtube's compression is sometimes garbage. please stream jessica's summer storm on spotify not youtube.

On that note. Try listening to thrash metal late at night. It's so scary like somebody is definitely there but you can't hear it because of the music.

For me, it depends of MV editing and if it fits the rhythm.
A simple example:
Call Call Call MV fits the flow of the song perfectly, from start to finish,
while Pretty U MV doesn't, and it makes the song worse. I've seen better editing in fanmade AMVs...
So I only watch the choreo version of Pretty U.

prolly a mix of trying to focus on both at the same time and sometimes when watching a mv you don't think the song fits the mv at certain points and it takes you out of that
