Also here’s a couple that may qualify. If I’m wrong don’t kill me though :catglare:
I think pita is the same as naan in the sense that it means a thing of bread but people still add bread to the end of the name.
I believe gyoza means a type of dumpling but people add dumpling to the name anyways.

shiitake mushrooms is another example i think of

i've mentioned this before, but the usage of chai (and therefore, chai tea) to mean the specific type of milky, sugary, and spicy tea popular in various parts of the indian subcontinent is mildly amusing to me because i simply use chai as the hindi word for tea, and i come from a part of the subcontinent where tea with milk isn't popular. so chai for me is just... plain tea. usually tea without milk, because that's what i drink most often (neither my parents nor i know how to make "proper chai")

My version of proper chai is coffee by the kuerig cup. :rjbow: I'm a disgrace to my dad. Kidding. XD
But If i do any kind of chai, it's without milk as well :icgyu: but that's just me o.o i hate milk. My grandma does the same as well.
