There's this guy from work who is not very bright and quite annoying tbh, always teasing people like a little boy and pushing everyone's buttons and stuff. He can be pretty mean. But I found out yesterday that he got beat up to the point of his facial bones fracturing and has been in a hospital... and my friend's (?) comment was "he deserves it". Really? being annoying is one thing, but to deserve to be hurt this bad? the greatest irony is that her husband is the same as the guy if not worse but ofc, she doesn't get that. I just hope and pray the guy will be okay and there won't be any permanent damage TT

Regardless of how he acts violence should only be the answer if it's in self defense but you don't need to go that far either way. Hopefully he recovers without any lasting damage and in case he did do something he learns to be more careful next time.
