Did you guys have Spirit Weeks in school? (1 Viewer)

For those of you who are in/have been in school, did you guys have Spirit Weeks? If so, what were some of your favorite themes?

If you don't know what they are, they are one school week of different themes to dress up or do and there was often some big event tied to it (typically at the end of the week). You never had to participate in them but they were a lot of fun.

My school has too many. We have the main ones, of course, for Homecoming week in September and Colors Day (basically homecoming for basketball) week in February and then clubs like to do some throughout the year, usually for a reason such as it being a month dedicated to a certain group of people.

Like my school this year alone has had the main ones but also Black Student Union week for Black History Month, FFA week (which is basically like an agriculture competition club), and my friend said that her Feminism Club is planning on hosting one next week for Women's History Month.

My favorite days were probably...

• Barbie vs. Oppenheimer Day (so many people participated and a LOT of people came to school wearing pink that day)
• Blast from the Past (I love out-of-period recreations. Most of them did something from the past century but it was really cool to see some people dress up like children or people other than the 20th/21st century)
• Anything but a Backpack Day - So funny because this year, people brought literal SHOPPING CARTS. It was wild.
• 70s Day - This was our Homecoming Parade and Game theme. I was so happy :P

With the homecoming weeks, we have a full week of Spirit Week festivities and then Friday is a 2-hour homecoming parade (WHICH I WAS APART OF) and the homecoming football game. And then that following Saturday is the homecoming dance! It's not as formal as prom so most girls didn't wear dresses longer than their knees lol

Same themes every time even when you changed schools?
Our Colors Day Spirit Week was the exact same as last year.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that my choir had a Spirit Week during the 3-show holiday concert in December. We have practice every night all week except for Tuesday and Friday where we have our first concert. And every time we have a Spirit Week with Thursday always being a Pajama Night with hot cocoa and cookies.

There were only 4 because everyone was off on Monday, so Spirit Week started on a Tuesday!

I love PJ day at school! When I mentioned that our dress rehearsal for our holiday concerts in December was pajama day, it was so fun. We had hot cocoa and everything.

And regular PJ day is super nice too :P

no nothing like that
like I mentioned to you we have prom (but we call it a "ball") and that's it

Wow, that's very interesting...

We have Homecoming in September or October that's a Spirit Week all 5 days and on Friday, there's a homecoming parade in the middle of the day that almost every student gets excused for class for and that leads us to the football stadium. There we have our homecoming court where we can see all the female candidates for the homecoming queen throne and their escorts (who will become homecoming king if she is chosen). I think this consists of 2 pairs from each grade except for seniors who get like 6 pairs lol (I forgot the technical numbers)

And that night, there's the American football game and at the end of the game, the homecoming queen and king are announced (we vote beforehand).

And then the following night, there's a dance that's not as formal as prom and only costs $10 instead of $25.

And I got to be in the parade this year! I was with the Environmental Action Club and we have an elementary and middle school across the street from our school so we made our way over there as well and the teachers at those schools let them watch the parade. It was so cool to see their reactions! They were so cuteee!! We even got to give them high-fives and they kept giving us compliments.

Prom, Homecoming, Colors Day, Culture Fest, 2 Food Truck Days, Fall Play, Spring Musical, Annual Choir Holiday Concert, Senior Sendoff, Senior Signing Day, Senior Awards Night, Graduation Ceremony, lots of club competitions, etc. :P
