The fact that the “war to end war”(WW1) led directly to WW2. I’ve also seen a WW1 monument named “It shall not be again”, which is the same idea and very wrong, given that the ramifications of WW1 laid the groundwork for WW2 without question.

I mean if there’s plenty of people who don’t consider the USSR communist then I don’t think China would have a chance, if you look at it from the same perspective. But China does seem very capitalist, I agree. My knowledge of China is admittedly limited though

I think the issue is that people think there isn't democracy is partially true but the difference is that we just have one party - the communist party and you can free join the communist party and vote for certain things within the party

Yes, but theoretically with communism there just wouldn’t be a party at all, so if you’re doing that far that alone makes it so China doesn’t qualify as communist. Economic system aside. The world isn’t necessarily you’re either democratic or communist, many others existed (just look at Hitler. He was originally democratic but at the end definitely not). Yes, it is. Doesn’t mean they’re right I actually got laughed at by my parents and grandparents when I called the Soviet Union communist and that made me start to think that maybe other opinions exist too on these things. There’s also even people who claim the US isn’t a democracy but that’s pretty rare and I think those people are just misinformed as to what counts as a democracy. But that opinion does exist

Yeah for sure. They aren’t friendly countries, therefore they’re bad. And how better to make them seem bad than label them with the label they’ve been insisting is bad for over a century?

one thing I've been saying irl with colleagues and stuff - the previous word wars have been racially motivated but the next one will ideological...

I see it in the US already that there is so much tension building up between the two ideologies

and the same will happen globally as well

I think they weren’t really a race thing (I’m assuming you meant world wars). WW2 yeah, though there were other huge factors involved. Not to mention that in the western side of the war, those fighting Germany often didn’t like Jewish people, a Canadian diplomat said that letting in no Jews was already too many so I don’t think many were divided on that issue, or at least not as much as they should have been. WW1 I don’t see a lot of racial stuff tbh, more nationality. But I’m also less educated on WW1. I do think the Cold War was very much an ideology war though.

And those are just the major ones. More minor events like this happened too. Even in things like the space race it was about whether capitalism or communism were better with science.
