I feel like the latest stuff has kinda lost the kpop spark, if that makes sense?
Old kpop just hits me with nostalgia. But maybe i just prefer old cause im a dinosaur and i got into it ten years ago lol

K-pop goes through various trends, and sometimes I like the trend, sometimes I don't.

yeah, I think you're just... older... so you just prefer older stuff. I prefer the 2010s music (as far as western music, not K-pop) rather than 2020s bc there's too much rap for my liking rn.

Personally, though, I came into K-pop way later than you did, so I far prefer the newer stuff bc that's what I'm used to

Apart from some ults mostly 2nd gen GG. There's no nostalgia because I started listening to K-Pop in 2021. But I like the specific sound of that era.

yeah i think the music nowadays is directed at like tiktok and other social media, rather than for just the general kpop sound (if that makes any sense?)

Kpop is just a mix of so many genres, and the trends follow them.I think kpop covers so many different genres thats why its so diverse, i feel it cant just be classified as pop because its so much more than just pop ya know?

everyone likes certain stuff, new or old, and kpop or not the taste is always different for everyone!

I still like a lot of the new releases, but its mainly the soloists who are releasing rock music haha

And I think the fact that the ones that are remembered are the best ones of that time needs to be considered. Yeah there’s boring new ones but because they’re new, they haven’t gone through musical natural selection, so that may make it seem like old songs in general were better. But the reality is the ones that were boring or whatnot in the old days have probably just been forgotten.

yeah but i guess it also depends on when you got into kpop?

idk i prefer older ones because thats what i began with if that makes any sense? And don't get me wrong i LOVE some of the newer stuff, and releases from 2015 to 2020, but the old songs just- idk what it is i just prefer them... but yes some of the 'classics' are a bit questionable haha
