big4 privilege is very much a thing and it almost guarantees success why? because for the majority of korean GP they would check out a group from the big4 because they were/are known to produce memorable groups so there's name recognition attached.

we must also remember that we are kpop fans in general and thus more likely to check out less known different groups - I know I do even if most of them are "pass" lol @kimsguardian but the Koreaan GP doesn't see it that way

Also as opposed to non big4 the big4 groups have propensity to "flop" in the sense that should they do less well than expected they have opportunity after opportunity whereas for a non big4 after a couple (or hell even one) miss they might have to disband due to lack of resources
