I haven't checked the financials so I'm not sure from that perspective but it's true that the groups are at least selling well, but I'm not sure how it compares to the costs of the pgngg into ador and source split or even the series of acquisitions before: in m&a accounting standards all integration costs only end after three years, and hybe went on an acquisition spree worthy of big tech

I have no love for mhj and I find her obsession with minji weird, don't get me wrong, but her presscon story has been consistent with what has been said in her pre-newjeans interview and the timeline between pgngg, the contract signings for all lsfm members, and the general rumours at the time; and that it has nothing to do with character or personality
in that sense I don't think she was wrong per se, and she does seem to have been double crossed especially with the treatment of predebut newjeans promotions; in the very least, the "sakura personally scouted by mhj" and "sakura's an odd choice of muse by mhj but good for her" was a huge thing when she was announced to have signed a contract into hybe general
I honestly think mhj thought everyone was going to give her the freedom lsm gave her (remember, as tight as her budget was, she has been there since 2002) and somehow didn't think that all those verbal confirmations could be broken or that the support would be conditional
at the end of the day I think it's just a battle between egos, and that the law firms must be making good money now

honestly I don't even think I'm that into kpop now in general, but this whole situation has been something on my radar for roughly two years now so that's my main motivation to keep up with everything, it's all for the corporate drama because I don't think anyone has waged as a public a campaign as them? not even the recent disney coups compare and that was basically two attempts back to back
