I know all too well what happens when you book on those OTA's

Which aspect? Flights? Attractions? Hotels? Either way I don’t think I use any more than any others. For flights it depends on the specific flight and country. Attractions are usually at the direct website for the attraction or at the door. Hotels are the only ones I sometimes use one site to find multiple I think, Expedia and Airbnb come to mind in that regard

We only ever go to myrtle beach so we've never needed to use one since it's local

sometimes i book them separately. for flights, i use google flights or kayak
