And if so can you communicate with them? Do you know their language? And so on.

I have family members that know little English (my dad’s parents) and instead speak most Russian and German when necessary. I can communicate with them through Russian. I have relatives in Israel but I don’t actually know what languages they usually speak, they do know Russian and maybe they know English. I’ve never talked to them before tbh. Ive only sen them though photos and heard of them through stories.

Well maybe some of my cousins. Some can't speak our native language so we speak english
I can't even speak a much traditional language that only my grandparents and parents know

My mom's cousin moved to Canada so she doesn't know a lot of Dutch anymore. We speak English

Everyone can speak English. Even my family that are from Japan speak English fluently.
