I don’t have any weird hobbies I diamond paint? It’s relatively common but not as standard as normal painting or something. I watch history videos maybe? I think history is pretty cool

diamond painting is such a fun, relaxing and most importantly pretty hobby !! i started a blackpink jisoo diamond painting like 3 years ago i think, and never finished it, so i respect your dedication and i'm big into history too !! history is super cool indeed !! i am mostly into ancient greek and roman history and mythology myself, but i enjoy learning as much as i can about the history of our existence and our world

If you give yourself enough time it becomes easier, and I can watch videos or listen to music while doing them. But I get that they aren’t for everyone And ngl those are times I’m pretty uneducated on. I would consider myself best with history 1900 and on. But I have more knowledge about American history too as a whole than I did before watching those videos. In school I only learned about stuff like the Revolutionary War and Civil War in elementary school, and it was ofc long ago, very sanitized, and very patriotic. We were too young to know better. Now I’m finally learning more about those times in US history, all those years later Greek and Roman I haven’t watched many videos about in general, but I may someday.

For me I think I like the recent history a lot because it’s more relatable. Like for example, I know generally where my ancestors were during WW2 (2 great grad fathers fought, one died in Berlin/one didn’t fight but his relatives were in Leningrad during the siege/one of the sides of my dads family were sent to concentration camps with the other German-Soviets) whereas in Greek and Roman times I wouldn’t know. Also artifact wise and building wise there’s more from recent history, and you can visit them. For example I’ve been in 3 Cold War bunkers for 3 different countries, and also seen an escape tunnel from East to West Germany during the Cold War. And the recency means there’s a more easily noted impact on culture and whatnot, such as languages that stayed and policies that still have a marked impact to this day. But it is impossible to deny that both Greek and Roman influence remains to this day, it’s mostly just been altered and added onto to make parts of our modern cultures. So I definitely should learn more about them, my knowledge of Caesar for example is that he led many battles, was the emperor, was kind of a dictator, and became a human pincushion But there’s obviously much more than that I’m sure.
