Im having a hard time lately (1 Viewer)

I'm in a program that has quizzes and assignments due ever week and all our quizzes are so difficult. They're closed-book but open-note and I have yet to score above 80% on ANYTHING I've turned in so far.

I feel like my notes are good and cover the general point but the quizzes themselves are so specific even if I feel good going into it the score tells me I'm 100% mistaken. How do you guys take notes? At this point I'm convinced I have to start writing out the entire book

And then half the stuff on our homework isn't even mentioned on the quizzes I really feel like a plastic bag drifting through the wind waiting to start again because WTF am I studying this content for when 80% isn't even on the quiz?!?! I don't know what's important and my instructors don't mention this stuff during class. They're just like "oh I guess you aren't reading the material" BRO maybe if it wasn't 130 pages long full of NONSENSE I might actually comprehend something

This happens FAR too often to students why dont the teachers help us out instead of making us struggle by ourselves and then giving us bad grades when we end up doing bad?

I think I'll have to befriend Google for next week but you know what this shows me? This shows me that I really don't understand anything and that's awful

Maybe write the topics you understand a few times so that you can memorize it (helps a lot in theoretical subjects) and when starting with a topic you don't understand maybe try YouTube lectures (I would have suggested a few channels but I don't know what majors you take)

I had a teacher like this. He'd nitpick the TINIEST bit of information that nobody would think to write down as a note and put that on the test to throw everyone off and make them lose some points. He also wouldn't actually teach. He would just read off the slides he TOOK from the class not ones he made on his own....

If my instructors would GO OVER the important material I wouldn't be really annoyed with my classes but we go through the powerpoints and do lab tasks that are COMPLETELY UNRELATED and that really stresses me out
