long story, but here it is if you have the time. (it'll be a spoiler so I don't clog up this post)I'm glad you're good <33
gurlll u cant just drop that on me now I need to know all the deets!! :)
Before her second to last song, Mackenzie Carpeter (the celeb in question) announced a meet and greet by the merch stand. I asked my dad (he was my concert buddy that night) if we could go, and he said yes! So off to the merch stand we went... except we spent like five or ten minutes just looking for it. Mackenzie had said the merch stand would be the section next to ours, but by the time we finally found it, the line had gotten too long. We got in line anyway, and we were moving along quickly, it seemed, bc several people were leaving the line. And then Dad lost sight of Mackenzie and dragged me out of line to find her... stupid move! We got back in line, but the line had gotten to the same length as originally. Then, a security guard came and told us Mackenzie was only taking so many fans and that the next opener was coming on in a few minutes. Dad took me out of the line AGAIN bc he'd given up, and then I convinced him that this was "the equivalent of hanging up when you're on hold", so back to the line. Then, a second security guard told us to leave and that she'd be back after the second opener. He was much nicer than the first and guaranteed that I'd get to see her that night.
So, after the second opener (Dylan Scott) finished his set, Dad and I went back to the merch stand. I guess we'd gotten there too early that time, because when we asked the merch lady when Mackenzie was coming back out, she didn't know... in fact not one member of the merch crew could tell us. Me being the worrywart I tend to be, I was scared that she wasn't coming out again, that maybe she changed her mind, so Dad took me to the eating area to sit down until a line formed. Luckily, we only had to wait a few minutes, but then the waiting game continued in the line until she finally came out.
When it was finally my turn, the first thing Mackenzie and I did was hug, and she gave me the sweetest greeting. I told her I was from Georgia (so is she), and she absolutely lit up like a Christmas tree. When I told her I was from Marietta, she told me her husband was from there, too! Honestly, talking to her was like talking to a good friend - no awkwardness, just chatter.
and here's my pic as proof:
