Awkward situation with old folks.... (1 Viewer)

Over the weekend, myself and my eldest daughter attended a family wedding together. It was all going well, and then an elderly couple approached us, and told us that we look like a lovely couple!


Safe to say, I was absolutely mortified, as I quickly rectified their mistake, by telling them that we're in fact father & daughter!

Of course, my daughter was struggling to contain her laugher in front of them and once they were gone, she started laughing her arse off about it all

I know that our age gap isn't the typical one between parent and child. But it's still 18 years (and even with my babyface) I still would've thought that it's noticeable that we're father and daughter!


So, yeah... Never thought there'd be anything as awkward as the time that myself and my younger sister were mistaken for a couple. But these elderly folks who thought that my daughter was my girlfriend absolutely takes the crown!

An old lady once asked if my mom and I are sisters And my mom doesn’t look young. But at the same time in the past year I’ve had someone think I’m less than 15 years old (I was 23) so apparently I look both old and young.

I was waiting for my mom outside the grocery store bathroom. Some elderly couple shows up, and the guy asked my brother if his "wife" could help the elderly woman get into the bathroom. My brother flatly responded "She's not my wife but sure." After I helped the woman, my brother and I just blinked in disgust - at each other, not the man.

Some drunk lady asked my brother if I was his woman once. My brother had to clarify that we were siblings

It's funny how that would be the case for most teen daughters. Not mine, though

She doesn't just regard me as her father. She also views me as one of her best friends


Though she does get annoyed when people think that she's older than 15 But that is mostly down to her height and how mature she behaves.
