My faves are on the list but it's safe to say my tastes do not align with the majority lollol

I'm really surprised by Ten and Idle. I had no idea they were doing so well! I think because the stansphere focuses on debut numbers rather than longevity.

Your faves probably chart better and are more organic respectively.

For the sake of discussion, here's where I diverge:
BTS:
Of course they all charted because ARMY rule the world, but,
I thought Neuron was the best "title track" by far. I thought Fri(end)s was boring.
Considering how good Right Place Wrong Person was overall, and how well it was received by the enormous fandom, I thought maybe some of the less-promoted b-sides would chart. Nope! Not even Groin. I was obsessed with RM's groin.

Twice:
They also have a big fandom, so of course their two promoted tracks charted. But that's just mass streaming, innit? It seems these songs did not perform well outside of the fandom, and that is really confusing to me. I think I Got You is maybe the second best pop single released this year (possibly the first best depending on if Tems is considered pop or rnb). One of the best Twice songs ever. I thought it would be the perfect song to catapult them to the next level. I thought it would be a hit. It was not a hit. It didn't even perform better than One Spark! I love One Spark too, but that is a more complicated song that took me a few listens to get my head around....

Other songs:
Bubble Gum. Where is it? Where is it? How Sweet is there, so where's Bubble Gum? Bubble Gum is so so so good!
I thought Heya had an absolutely golden hook. The kind of incredible, timeless hook that just seems inevitable, where you're like, "how come nobody thought of this earlier?" Maybe not structured to best make use of it, but still, so catchy, and that last chorus hits like a truck. Again, it's on the chart, so it did well. But not to where it should be given how good I think it is. I notice people are generally kind of down on it, saying it's not one of Ive's best.

I can't stand Sheesh or the Idle songs. Like, I think they're atrocious, monumentally bad. And yet, in so many ways, outperforming my faves by miles. Ha! Sheesh is particularly impressive. People really like that song. Can't say I understand, but I'm happy for them!

i agree that friends is a little dull. Neuron and Never Let Go are far better

I really liked I got you and One Spark - for me it's been the best TT in a couple of years
nope to Bubble Gum and How Sweet but I liked Right Now
Groin was fantastic I really liked that one
BTS songs will always chart well since they are BTS and they have some really good songs

I didn't mind Sheesh even though it's not like my fav
I like most of Gidle's songs
I liked both of LSFM's songs
I liked supernova (nope to Armageddon)
