Sometimes the price difference for residents vs non residents is surprising (1 Viewer)

Some time back I had to pay for a parking pass for a place in my state and the price for a non resident to park was almost 3x as expensive The non resident one was close to 50 USD. I was very glad we were in my state, it’s quite a bit heftier of a price for non residents.

aren't there places where they charge tourists like more because they think they can afford it

supply and demand...

like I know for example in China for touristy places - the starting (haggling) price they offer to tourists is like triple the starting price they offer to locals

Yeah but in this case it’s a bit weird to me because people from neighboring states aren’t richer and they have plenty of this type of place I would think. So why would they even bother going here if they can just go somewhere else for cheaper?
