And I think it's probably been the most traumatic experience in my life, so I'm going to tell you about it.

It happened suddenly, he got a blood clot in his spine that paralyzed him from the waist down. He was in a lot of pain and unfortunately the nearest emergency vet to us that was open at the time was an hour and a half away.

The hardest part is that I keep asking "why?" but the truth is that there is no "why" because it just "is". And I think that's just the worst. My baby was 5 years old - the youngest I've ever lost a cat. It's so unfair and I hate it.

I will never get his cries out of my mind. I will never get the image of him trying and failing to stand out of my mind.

Thank you very much, it's been so hard without him. Small things like going to feed the cats is the worst when, instead of grabbing the usual 3 bowls, now you only have to grab 2. These things have been the worst reminders

awwwwww I'm so sorry for your loss! My heart is breaking for you rn and it wasn't even my cat, so I can only imagine how you feel in this moment. I lost my aunt to cancer a year and a half ago, she meant the world to me bc she was also my godmother. The grief process never really ends, but it does get better with time... as much as you probably hate hearing that... but I think it's true!

Time does not heal all, but many wounds. You'll get those images out of your mind. Take time to grieve, it's important. But don't forget: another furry friend is already waiting for your love somewhere. It's better to open your heart for a new guest (in the end we're all just guests on this planet), instead of filling your mind with sadness too long.

Why do some children and even babies die so young? Or why do people die from incurable diseases? In a fair world we would be with our beloved ones forever. It seems unfair, but maybe there's a higher reason that we don't know.
