I just checked Melon charts earlier and saw it too, also even before this they had a lot of songs very high in the charts.. they seem to be incredibly popular right now

it's really incredible, they are a group as old as Twice but only now they get super popular!

Especially I think after Jae leaving and them all going to the military, people thought the group might be done? It's great they did not give up!!

Realistically, for a band, they were popular. And they did have popular songs. But they weren’t exactly promoted the same as Twice, firstly because they’re a band, so a different audience, and also because twice had more popularity from the start (as expected) so they were pushed more by JYP to capitalize on that popularity. Also, Twices constant content helped with their popularity, but it was hard on them with how much they had. One of the things Day6 is partially known for is that they write or help write a bunch of their songs. So they can’t realistically do what Twice did with the constant content, so it can be easier to fly under the radar when comparing them. They did have their year where they released music constantly, but it’s not as much as twice and it was hard on them as well. I’m not saying either group is better, I’m just saying that it’s hard to compare the popularity of a group like Day6 with Twice, since they only share a company and debut time.

Oh wait that makes sense Though I do still think the trajectory of a band like Day6 can be pretty different from an idol group. Nuests popularity surge to me just seemed more surprising than Day6 for some reason, for example. But either way I think it’s great that they are getting more popularity

They have 4 songs in the top 15 of Melon from 3 different albums, incuding the top spot and ended Aespas eternal Supernova. That is NewJeans level of charting!!

I get that charting is better than not charting, but I don't know what charting is good, what’s really good, what’s exceptional, ect. I’d assume that higher charting for longer is better but I wouldn’t know what’s the normal time a relatively popular artist charts for a regular song for them vs how high and long a mega hit charts and so on.

Good songs Not my favorites from them necessarily, but still solid ones. I can get why they charted

well I'm not an expert on this stuff, but in general charting at #1 is extremely good! Mostly only GG manage to do that

Having so many songs high up in the charts is also very good ofc! Not many groups can do that
