Yes there are, due to food insecurity

I still view it as fine. Someone choosing not to use rice as a sensory object won’t magically make the food go to someone who needs it, at least not generally. People who are worried about the should look more at getting food to those in need, and less at stuff like this. Looking just at the people we have and the food we have, there’s a surplus.

Ahh makes sense. I should have clarified more in the OP but by food and play I meant more like children making macaroni necklaces or using dyed rice in a sensory bin like this:

that one guy who used to make "food dumping" videos and yell "MILK 🗣🗣🗣" while pouring a 500000l jug of milk into his cup or something.... nowadays he makes videos donating the food or somethin but im a bit skeptical

tbh, i don't think it's bad at all, especially with very very common foods like rice especially when it's for children, it's just a safe option sometimes since kids love to eat stuff
