In 5 minutes you can notice trolls want only to satisfy their ego, and they do that for years. So, they know how to get the reactions they are going for.

Still every day some younglin comes and feeds the troll.

When will this end? Are trolls the perfect machines?

Not all trolls are good at being trolls so it can be fun arguing with them
But as you said, it's better to ignore them, that way they can't get entertained

Sometimes people are bored and want an argument to shake things up (tbh that excuse always sounded really desperate and sad to me, but oh well). But I've also noticed that it sometimes can be a case where the person reacting to the troll is actually friends with them and they're both just joking around, but that barely happens lol.

If people didn't get angry at trolls and left their egos unfed, the trolls will eventually stop trolling maybe. So the people that get triggered are both frustrating and benefiting in a way.

Most don't fall, they walk in with a game face on because they're either a) bored or b) want an opportunity to be as repetitive as possible while making sure you know that they will not let the troll have the last word, regardless of the fact that their defending is for naught but to reinforce what people already think about any certain fandom.

Maybe.

It's a vicious cycle. It's rarely even "entertaining" to read nowadays because it's so repetitive and obvious.

Oh, and then there are a) new fans filled with he righteous fury of 1000 suns and b) people that need their post counts to go up (and c) people who genuinely are cinnamon rolls in the internet universe and trolling flies right over their heads.)
