Today is mid autumn festival (or in SK they call it Chuseok)

In China and many surrounding countries we eat mooncakes

the fillings are usually sweet - red bean or lotus seed but there is a variety of flavours

So back to the original question - have you had a mooncake and if so did you like it?

The ones with the mixed nuts in it is the best! Though nothing beats the regular ones with lotus paste and egg yolk. Always sooooo yummy!

True, mooncake in itself is an acquired taste. One of my friend doesn't like it because of the texture with the seeds.

hurry down to your local Asian (Chinese) grocery store and after today there will usually be a lot of mooncakes left and they will be on special since mid autumn festival will be over

If you like egg yolk, get the ones with double egg yolk in them! When you cut the moon cake up into pieces (I usually cut it into 4 pieces) each one will have a bit of salted egg yolk in it. Yummmmmmmmm 🤤🤤🤤
