My apologies in advance if I word things wrong or don't approach this as tactfully as I should. I'll try to avoid politics too much, but I know the exact feeling you have, or I think I do anyway. I grew up in a conservative environment, but nowadays I think I'm somewhere in the middle (haven't figured out my exact label, like if I want to use centrist, moderate, independent, ect). I'm don't consider myself to be racist, misogynistic, homophobic or anything like that though, just in case it needs to be said. I have had several interests that are more liberal-coded or tend to have fanbases with minorities (K-Pop, certain TV shows, animation, ect). Sometimes when people find out about my political beliefs, we can agree to disagree (or, very rarely, we might actually agree), but sometimes they become surprised and wonder how I can enjoy the things I do with what my political views are, or, in some cases, how I can be so messed up or possibly believe X or Y and so on.
I'll say that your political beliefs are a part of you, but it's your choice whether you leave it as just a part of you or if you make them define you, if that distinction makes sense. There's no right or wrong answer, just whatever you feel is right. Your opinions may change over time or they might not, and either way it's okay. It's completely fine to like something even if most of the fan base disagrees with how you think. I'd be careful being vocal about it unless you have a thick skin though, because sometimes people assume your political beliefs based on your interests, and if they're wrong, despite you not doing anything wrong, they may feel hurt, angry, confused or betrayed and lash out at you as a result. I'm not trying to say to never speak up about political beliefs ever, but to be careful so you don't get hurt (emotionally, or physically if it's in person).
