Did you know that the largest species of pinecone cause weigh 4-11lbs each? These pinecones have the nockname widowmaker. They belong to the Coulter pine. They produce a large amount of sap and have curls by the curved ends of their pine cones. They are difficult to harvest due to how sharp they are.​

Update: if anyone wants to see a Coulter pine pinecone, you’re in luck. Ive apparently got one myself. I didn’t know what type it was until I did some digging now. This one is approaching its 20th year though so it looks more faded and it’s a lot lighter.
