Never driving... this is pure insanity. I drive 42 miles every day I work. Infact, most job applications in the US ask if you have reliable transportation and if you list public transportation your not getting the job.

reading this thread made me feel like the US is some another planet omg, i cannot imagine living like that where i live, if you drive 42 miles you end up in another city so most people do not apply to workplaces in such distance. with that being said, driving young is common among people here as there is some weird social pressure (at least among people i know) to get a license right after high school which often results in accidents caused by young drivers. i personally do not see myself driving at 23, let alone 16 or something

I do end up in a small town 21 miles away fromt he city I live in. I honestly hate it! I hate 12 hour shifts too.
