I came back from watching Moana 2 (1 Viewer)

I went to the movies to see Moana 2 with my two older cousins (one of them was visiting from Massachusetts *he moved from Florida and he is back in the Northeast with his girlfriend*), my older cousin’s girlfriend, and my 2 younger cousins.

I got home and the first thing I do is listening to the Moana 2 soundtrack on Spotify (I admit the songs from the move are pretty awesome )

And yes, I enjoyed the movie and I actually can’t wait for a possible Moana 3.​

Ooohhh i loved it, but the story fell very flat imo!
I was actually able to watch it 4 days before the official premiere.

My fave song was Maui's but my opinions could change once I listen to the English one, I watched the Flemish dubbed one

It's a great movie, visually especially.
Personally loved the songs more than the first movie, but How Far I'll Go is iconic.

Plot wise, I felt it fell short
Plot of the movie is to discover new people and break a curse so the ocean's connected once again.

In the trailer, there's Bat woman (idk what here name is), so you think she has quite some screen time. NOPE
She's like 15 minutes in the whole movie.
She captures Maui so Moana can come save him. Moana ends up finding him by accident and then Batwoman lets them escape (why? no idea)
Turns out she works with the god who put this curse on the ocean in the first place because the god hates people (why, NO IDEA)
Why does she work with the god? why does she help Moana? WE DON'T KNOW CUZ IT'S NOT EXPLAINED EVER, probs will be in the third movie.

Oh yeah, Moana has a little sister and they want you to know they're sisters, cuz they keep calling each other little/big sis. The little sis' name is only dropped once or twice and the only reason why the little sis got written in the movie was solely so Moana has a bit of doubt about breaking that curse in the first place, but after 5 minutes she goes out to sea anyways

I kinda loved how Moana now has a crew (a farmer, a storyteller who's a big Maui fan, and a ship builder and later a kakamora (the coconut)).
Maui had less screen time which is kind of a petty as he's a good character
We did get more Pua screen time tho!

Heihei and Pua were the comedic reliefs in this whole movie and I loved it!
I took my mom with me who didn't even watch the first movie and she loved Pua and Heihei very much!

Not really rushed, just they didn't bother with the story I feel. Probs because they think it's a kids movie so plot doesn't really matter

What is the reason why people think that? Because I don't really see any instance where this narrative would fit
