Has anyone worked with feral kittens before? (1 Viewer)

I caught a feral kitten 2 weeks ago now (he’s adorable ) but, he’s extremely aggressive with food. He’s recently started biting, swatting my fingers/hand for food. And I don’t mean lightly, while I’ve made some progress with him, he’s still very feral and doesn’t hold back with his claws or teeth. I’ve literally read and done everything that I know to do, redirecting with toys, ignoring him when he manages to get me, etc…

I just ordered a Feliway calming diffuser and a treat puzzle to hopefully target his energy for food in a proper way.

Does anyone have any ideas or really anything that you think would help?​

maybe you should drop him off at a feral cat rescue? they may be able to help.

The ones I’ve been able to find near me only offer TNR services. But maybe I’ll do a bit more digging to see if I can find others. I’m just terrified at the thought of bringing him to some place to be socialized but instead he just gets placed in a scary cage which wouldn’t help him at all.

I really hope he improves soon, he’s still really young so he’s at the perfect age for socialization, I think I mainly just need him to stop seeing me as “food lady”. It’s good he knows humans mean food, but he still hasn’t seemed to figure out that it also means safety and love. He has a vet appointment this week (let’s hope they don’t lose a finger lol) and if all goes well I’ll be letting him meet our other 2 kittens through a gate. From the research I’ve done that can be really beneficial for ferals to visually see other cats interact with people.
