Spent My Weekend Binge Watching an Anime (1 Viewer)

The anime in question was Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War, which is a sequel to the Bleach Anime. The anime itself is supposed to have 4 parts, but the first Two Parts of the sequel already aired while Part 3 is still techincally airing.

So I spent my Saturday and Sunday trying to at least finish the first two parts of the anime.

Well at least I am close to finishing part 2 of the anime (I paused around Episode 24 since it was getting too late).

Of course, I have a lot great memories watching Bleach when I was younger and occasionally watching reruns of the original anime (and mostly skipping filler episodes *except for the Zanpakuto Rebellion Arc, because I actually like those specific filler episodes* )

While the sequel of the anime is darker and bloodier, I wasn't too fazed by the violence except for that one part of the anime that caught me off guard. I was like "WTF" in my head at moment

Plus it was nice seeing one of my favorite Bleach character appear and then dying before getting revived twice within the same episode

But overall, the anime has been solid imo.​

Parts 1 and 2 has 13 episodes each, so that's a 26 episodes combined (I'm already at episode 25 *so I'm almost done with part 2 of the anime*).

Part 3 is 14 episodes, but 11 episodes aired so far from part 3. Episode 38 will air this week while Episodes 39 + 40 will air on the 28th.

Wow, that's quite the investment! I'll have to see if I can squeeze it in before Squid Game season 2 drops.

Bleach had such a great comeback after a decade. Right now, I'm currently reading the manga.
The Zanpakuto Rebellion Arc is my favorite filler.

I agree with this and they have been on a roll with this series once the 1st cour of TYBW aired. I will probably rewatch the original anime once more and read the manga after finishing Part 3 of TYBW.

And the moment that shook me was:

Spoiler: Because this scene was rather gory

When Cang Du got beheaded by the scale during the execution scene, I had literally had to rewind to see if I was seeing things incorrectly... Turns out, it was indeed a beheading

The thing I love about Bleach is the OST. They have such banger OST.
