i was two hours into my sleep this morning when i was awoken by the bar falling off my window so the curtain fell down
fixing the bar is so stressful because it never seems to work with you
i immediately passed out after that happened because i hadnt had gotten enough sleep to deal with it
but i had a dream that i fixed it....
and when i had awoken.....
the disappointment i see to my curtain still flopped over and bright light filling up all my space....

when dreams bleed directly to what is happening in your current moment, not fun stop doing that.
dreams =/= reality.
do not cross that boundary brain, do not confuse me any further i beg.

just remembered while trying to fix it that one time in my old apartment when i was trying to fix it there, and the man who lived in the apartments across was watching me from his window the entire time like should i start charging for the show

also i cant fix it

But other times when you’re struggling with something in waking hours and it becomes your sleep too, that’s horrible because it can feel like it’s consuming your whole life.

right, the amount of times i had dreams where i was HOURS late for work, woke up with insane anxiety and it'd actually be like 3-4 hours before my shift started.... (which started at 6am so waking up at 2-3am in THAT kind of state 😩....)

I have one of these stories, although I quite enjoy the reality-dream blending.

Often I'd not get enough sleep in HS so it often became a game of what the fuck was the original sentence because the in-dream sentence would be something entirely off the rails, but if you slowly piece together the rhythm and individual syllables, you can get a rough idea of what was said. I would be genuinely snoring in class and still give an answer within a ballpark when woken up and called upon to answer the question. If I guessed wrong, I sounded extra high though... so there's that.

But by itself, like at home, it gives my body this weird feeling idk how you'd describe it, but it's like you weren't asleep but when I wake up it's kinda like pulling my head out of a warm bath and not feeling the cold of the water drying on my face, but like deep within my brain. It's a good feeling.

edit: there's also the tingling, as if it fell asleep, but without the pins and needles, and my body temp does rise a lot but it cools down shortly after. It's pretty cool but idk if others have it.

not exactly the same but apparently im known to talk to people in my sleep with full responses if they try to talk to me. which freaks me out. i dont like not knowing what im saying, it feels against my will.... the human brain is crazy....

OH OH OH I KNOW THIS PART

basically your brain is still "scanning its radar" for threats and whatnot when sleeping, so it will only "turn on" parts of the brain that are necessary to react so most often, memory is turned on last (fully awake). Evolutionarily, it would be to look and listen if the sound in the forest was a threat. So the best part is is that it is completely within your will, the worst part is, is that the brain didn't think it important to "write any of it down".

thats utterly crazy but makes total sense. i cant help but remember the one time in middle school when my friend was sleeping over, and she was like "what was wrong with you last night?" and i was like HUH
apparently she had gone up to go to the bathroom and i sat straight up, looked her dead in the eyes and said "where are you going" very monotone like two or three times. i obviously have no recollection of that but just the thought makes me laugh so hard. so it was all for survival huh...
