For me the state of Nevada. I can’t think of anything more fitting than naming Nevada “snow capped land”(roughly). Nothing could make more sense

This is probably stretching it but Kyoto's kanji is 京都 which match 1:1 with 京都 in Chinese which is just two synonyms for capitol. so its can be mistakenly read as Capitol Capitol in Chinese. It's somewhat fitting because it used to be the capitol of japan for awhile

I did some digging (aka went on google for 5 seconds) and it said that Kyoto in Japanese Kanji does mean capital capital, or capital city I believe kanji is super similar, if not identical, to written Chinese. I guess the people who named Kyoto didn’t think about what happens when the capital is moved

if you really wanna sit down on a map.... tokyo seems a bit more east than kyoto.... uhhh. apparently tokyo is 東京 in kanji which is the old way in chinese to write 东京 and if you translate that, "eastern capitol" they really just hired the same guy to name everything didn't they
