When you was a child and you lay in bed with your favorite plushie during a thunderstorm ... did you feel safe and protected although you knew that your plushie isn't a real living being and can't show real emotions? Maybe you imagined it's real and it worked for you that way.

When you watch an anime, do you love or hate specific characters although they're just drawn figures? You see a photo of a cute animal and you 'fall in love' instantly because it's so cute. But all you see is a picture.

I guess a robot doesn't need to show emotions when it's able to evoke our emotions.
