Honestly??? You all go out and caption your Instagram posts with #cleantheearth and #savetheplanet but you all have the audacity to throw away that stack of paper. You all have the audacity to leave that wrapper you dropped on the dirt, and you have the audacity to smoke and destroy the atmosphere like you own it. Well, surprise sis, you're wrong. And not only have you destroyed the white rhinos from environmental loss, but poaching as well, you've committed a sin just as great.

You remember these guys? From Rio?

They're extinct.
Bc for some reason, people feel as if it's okay to disregard the needs of any other species other than humans. Don't talk about how you treat everyone/everything equally if you can't even respect the exact creatures that allowed you to thrive in this environment in the first place. Some of you all clearly want the world to look as ugly as your personality, don't you...

And on a more positive thought, here are some baby animals that are not covered in plastic and suffocating.

I understand your point but honestly something is better than nothing. It's hard to get rid of habits and taking one step at a time is better than doing nothing at all. So if people want to switch up plastic straws to reusable straws but still use and throw away paper, I don't see why they should be shamed. At least they're trying to save some species even if they can't save them all. It still makes a difference and it still helps one way or another.

Also, people who aren't vegan but are trying to make a difference to save the climate and animals don't deserve to be shamed either. So many people keep commenting "but you're not vegan" underneath posts where people promote eco-friendly materials and it's just so disappointing. People need to get off their high horses and evaluate their own lives and choices instead of judging a stranger who has good intentions. I don't even know why this became a thing but it's super annoying and it just turns people away from doing whatever good they were doing for the planet.

Anywho, my mini rant is over.

Hmm, I messed up my post lmao. I definetely meant to put the #cleantheearth caption, not the #nostraw caption. In the, my stance was that you shouldn't promote something you don't act on. But I agree. My intended point was that people shouldn't claim that they're doing something they aren't.

Ex.- Saving the planet, but continuing to do things that harm the planet.

I think people are just so used to fossil fuels and greenhouse gases that it a part of our society. Plastic, for instance, is ingrained into our lives and it would be incredibly different and difficult without it. And, unfortunately, we wont be able to stop using it for a long time.

However, people are looking at alternatives such as seaweed but these things will take an incredibly long time to take place and be ingrained into modern society. And it wont stop the damage that has already been done. The government aren't doing much either.

But there are people protesting. Protesting for the government to make a change. To help the animals that are suffering and to to help out planet too. It's sparked a big controversy in my country with many young people getting involved and I'm glad it's finally being paid attention to. Step by step, as humanity, we're trying to make a change. Humans can be disgusting and terrible people but we can be beautiful people too and we're trying our best to save the damage that we've done.

Maybe there will be a day when everyone acknowledges the damage that we've done and all try to help save it but it might take a while before that happens. So @floppinfish, it might not be in your generation, but there will hopefully by a point when your future generations can swim in peace without any plastic in the sea.
