I am very surprised that bgs like bnd and tws don't have bigger domestic hype. You can argue tws has some but bnd defs doesn't, both should have commercial success, they're that good.

I think collectively the Kpop fandom fucking sucks we are not good people. I've ranted about how not progressive we are when it comes to gender and gender expression between ggs and bgs before in random thoughts, but I think it's hypocritical when fans don't like the hypermasculinity of groups such as skz and ateez (which fair enough, preferences and all that), but when bgs do brighter stuff (like as mentioned before bnd and tws) it's still overlooked. How close minded can people be yk?

On this note, I think any progressive message implemented in a concept or a song is ultimately undermined by the fact that it wasn't the idol's idea (unless they have the creative control, which is a usual no) to adopt it but the company's to increase profit.

I think a good example is crazy by lsfm. The members may be queer allies, queer themselves, but it doesn't matter because they didnn't think up crazy, they didn't think of the line 'girls are girling,' they didn't think of contacting the dancehouse to perform in their video. It just feels so shallow, like it's only there to capitalise on queer people and culture. This isn't to take anyone's enjoyment of the song and comeback, but the thought ruins mine.

This also goes for any self love song. I'm not listening to people who's mental and physical health has been deteriorated by the kpop system

I don't want to think about this too much but the way LOONA has set the standard and changed kpop with no kind of recognition from anyone makes me so upset. I remember, peak covid, LOONA released So What, then suddenly every group had a hard hitting concept, moon centered lore, and vocal bridges. When LOONA debuted with no positions besides leader in 2018, suddenly EVERY group had no positions. Predebut solo projects. Chuu heart. STAN LOONA turning into a viral meme that reached outside of the kpop space and now EVERY fandom uses it. FANCAMS! How Orbits lowkey ran gg twitter in 2018. That artsy style Jaden Jeong used for Ladies' Code, LOONA, BOA, and now for TripleS. Like there will never be another group like this ever again. The way everyone and their mother wanted to have moon centered lore after LOONA was the most telling part to me personally. Companies were really trying to gain the LOONA fanbase without the authenticity or effort that LOONA had. and yes, I mean LOONA themselves. None of that was BlockBerry or Jaden's doing because they weren't really doing anything for LOONA. LOONA's fan connection is one of a kind, natural, and it's was eventually helped them escape BlockBerry. I'm not even trying to be a LOONA promoter or anything like that, they're just my ult gg.

I agree with everything else you have said, but I think Blackpink is most likely the inspiration with ddu du ddu du. People saw that women being dark and edgy was cool then everyone decided to take some inspiration. Not to diminish Loona's influence ofc.

Like after their debut riize haven't been hitting numbers and within the fandom have been slowly fading (if they were non big-4, they would've faded already). Bnd are digital doing great with if I say I love you and with Jaehyun's god-given variety ability (he was the most booked male idol last year) and the group's atmosphere being less restrained, I can see the gp latching onto them. This isn't like a good or bad thing nor do I really care about commercial success, just an observation/predication I have going.

SM basically alienated their global fanbase, continued to double down on their crappy management, and now all of their artist are leaving, bashing them, exposing them. the fans are refusing to engage, their public opinion is worse than ever, and no one's buying into their money hungry gimmicks anymore. play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

shouldn't njz apologize for wasting public resources and inciting hate now? what a waste of everyone's time, especially their own. it just makes me upset that they chose to publicly stand with a misogynistic weirdo with a strange history of exploiting minors (mhj.) yet they expected it to turn out well for them..? I am in no way celebrating their failure because i like them and i do not like their company either, but this was not the way to go about it and it's obvious that it's that weirdo's influence and not their own. i know that they are old enough to make their own decisions and stuff now, but i choose to see the best in people and i hope for their sake that it doesn't get as bad as it did for the people they turned their backs on and publicly sabotaged (lsfm and illit). i hope they do leave the company if that's what they truly want, no one deserves to be stuck in a place they have no desire to be in. but it's just bitter knowing that they and their wicked "6th member" caused the suffering of illit to the point that they were crying and so grateful at the slightest amount of kindness and understanding because they weren't even used to it. and all of that for what? because some weirdo manipulated them into it?

mhj really does need to be investigated. she's the main problem. she doesn't even like njz members or women for that matter, hell, she was calling them stupid and called them pigs. may she never work with any artist again. ugh, wick woman. she didn't even think illit was copying, she just had to use illit, newjeans, lsfm, and anyone else she could think of to cover up the truth of the whole situation, which was that she's literally the whole problem! she's done nothing but cause problems for everyone around her and i hope that njz can break away from her toxicity and thrive on their own. she seriously has those girls thinking they can't survivie without her. if that's not a major red flag, i don't know what is. how did their parents allow this to happen? some of the worst parenting i've seen, only being beat out by kim saeron's parents who have literally used her as a cashcow her entire life. i don't wish that for njz. i hope njz parents can step up and actually help their daughters instead of sitting on the internet crying about things they consented to when it benefitted them financially.
