How many different plants do you eat a day? (1 Viewer)

I'm currently trying for a minimum of five servings of different types. It's hard fixing long engrained eating habits.

No I haven’t heard of someone eating the actual plants but the orange off of f a tree sounds so good

tbh I have the person who would love eating trees my puppy he loves breaking sticks off of them and chewing them and eating leaves we have some fake trees in our house and he will eat those aswell💀

It's just another way to say it broadly, like people will say they follow a "plant-based diet" meaning, they mostly eat things that are plants. Which can be fruits and vegetables, but is also things like lentils or nuts or what-have-you.

My dog also eats actual sticks, if I'm not paying careful enough attention.

My dog doesn’t care he will go for it and then I have to pretend I’m going inside tbh he doesn’t swallow them just chews and then gets distracted and finds smth else

I don’t count carefully, and it’s not always straightforwards because they can be eaten in the form they grow in, or made into sauces, or spices, or they could be plants but not associated with plants (like nuts), and so on. Most days I eat at minimum garlic and onion, those are common in stuff I cook. But sometimes I eat other combinations. Some of the things I make exceed 5 plants alone, like borscht (7 not counting spices, 9 counting spices) or a Nigerian chicken stew (6 not counting dried spices, 13 counting dried spices). But some days dinner will only have one non spice plant, though I sometimes still have other good with plants for breakfast or lunch.

TLDR: I don’t really know because I don’t count and plant is such a broad term
